Description
English: Ken Wallingford, former Vietnam War POW and recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts, discusses the daily reality of serving on the front lines as part of the LBJ Presidential Library’s Vietnam War Summit on Thursday, April 28, 2016.

Joining him on "The Troops: A View from the Front Lines" panel discussion were Liz Allen, PhD, a former Army nurse; John Sibley Butler, a Bronze Star recipient; and Isaac “Ike” Camacho, first American POW to escape from a prisoner of war camp in Vietnam and recipient of the Bronze Star, two Silver Stars and two Purple Hearts. The discussion was moderated by Vietnam veteran William Adams, chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Allen is former director of continuing education at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. Butler is director of the Herb Kelleher Center for Entrepreneurship at the McCombs School of Business, The University of Texas at Austin. Wallingford is a top official at the Texas Veterans Land Board.
