Summary edit

Description
English: St Fethlimidhs Cathedral lies on a hill outside Cavan town. Its first bishop was William Bedell, who translated the bible into the Irish language in the 17th century. It is adorned by marvellous stain glass windows, two of which are made by Mayer Co. Munich. The entry to its vestry is through a Romanesque doorway that derives from nearby Trinity Island.

There is an old cathedral nearby used as a parish hall as well as the vault of bishop Bidell and an almost 400 years old Sycamore tree which was supposedly planted by said bishop
