Description
Centsprent met 4 x 3 omkaderde houtsneden, met afbeeldingen uit het leven van Jan van Speyk. Als weeskind, op school, als kleermaker en bij een grutter. Dan gaat hij naar zee en wordt luitenant. Hij gaat naar Antwerpen (1831), en uit dankbaarheid krijgt hij een medaille van de koning. Dan laat hij het schip in de lucht vliegen en sterft. Een marmeren monument 'meldt uw zijn begin en end'. Met vierregelige rijmende onderschriften.
