| Description |
English: Taken from Kingston Bridge. The John Lewis building has just been completed. Taken about December 1990-Jan 1991 @sign_in_stranger (see below) notes that the chimneys in the picture were demolished on 16 October 1994. The remains of the power station can also be seen between the chimneys. A hard fight developed over the screening trees along the river which the developer of the site for housing wanted to chop down to allow river views. That led to an occupation of the trees which I think ended in the usual victory for the powers of the state. |
