Description
English: The Kippax Uniting Church banner (in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory) was designed in 1986 for the opening of the church building in 1987.

The work was conceived and designed by Marlene Greenwood MA who, along with volunteers from the congregation, brought together fabrics from many sources and stitched the work.

The design incorporates both liturgical and cultural references, including:

The banner was affected by smoke and, to a lesser extent, heat, during a fire in the church on Christmas Day 2005 and work was undertaken by conservators to correct the banner and make it safe for showing.
