Summary edit

Description
English: Access control on the Southwell Trail
The Mansfield, Southwell and Rolleston Junction Railway, built in 1847, closed to passengers in 1959 and wholly in 1964 has been converted into a trail for walkers, cyclists and horseriders known as the Southwell Trail, which runs through from Bilsthorpe to Southwell. Here, at the site of the old Kirklington Station, an access control has been placed across the Trail: a locked gate enables access to maintenance vehicles, cyclists can negotiate the chicane on the right, whilst horses can step over the low horse stile in the middle of the gate - but hopefully motor cyclists will be defeated.
