Description
English: Kites and Bikes This is the bay that the parish of Uig takes it's name from and is derived from the old Norse Ogr. The mountain on the right is Mealasbhal the highest on the Isle of Lewis. The villages around the fertile machar of the bay were cleared in the 1840s (including my great great great grandfather and his brother)
