Summary edit

Description
English: Knathorn Farm. Knathorn was a store farm, for growing barley and grass, fattening steers and lambs, and breeding from a flock of ewes - the owners lived twenty minutes drive away on a dairy farm on the other side of Crediton. This image included the Brook beneath the line of trees in the foreground, and was taken on one of those balmy summer evenings that are unique in the English countryside. The view is looking north from one of the highest points on the property, towards the nearest village of Morchard Bishop, just over the hill in the background. Copplestone and Crediton lie directly south. In 2005 I stayed with an old friend in the town and planned in the morning to go to see how much Knathorn had changed in 25 years. But we were too long in the Three Little Pigs the night before and ran out of time in the morning..... I still have good friends, and family now, in the West Country, so plan to update these photos in the next couple of years. I doubt whether much will have changed, though I was horrified during the last visit at how much traffic there was on the roads. Does this foreshadow that the farmhouse is now a wealthy retirees gentrified pile?
