| Description |
English: "Books", a public sculpture by Diana Bell in Bonn Square, Oxford, UK. This was a gift to Oxford from Bonn in Germany, to celebrate sixty years of twinning between the two cities. The sculpture represents two stacks of books embossed with the words "Knowledge", "Understanding", "Friendship" and "Trust" in English on one stack, with their German equivalents "Wissen", "Verständigung", "Freundschaft" and "Vertrauen" on the other. A plaque nearby on the ground explains the purpose of the piece. |
