Mstyczów - wieś w powiecie jędrzejowskim w woj. świętokrzyskim. Wzmianki o niej znane są już ze źródeł pochodzących z XIII w.Wtedy już była tu parafia i kościół.Pochodzący ze Mstyczowa Pakosław herbu Lis został pochowany w kościele klasztornym Cystersów w nieodległym Jędrzejowie. Fakt ten niezwykły jak na zwykłego rycerza, a nie dostojnika kościelnego czy zakonnika świadczy o jego znaczeniu i zasługach zapewne nie tylko żołnierskich i sięgających daleko poza okolicę. Znamienne jest również i to, że jego kamienny ozdobny grobowiec nie jest ukryty gdzieś w podziemiach klasztornych lecz usytuowany jest w nawie bocznej kościoła na poziomie posadzki. Obecny kościół w Mstyczowie został wzniesiony na początku XX w. w miejscu dawniejszej świątyni. Zbudowany został w stylu neogotyckim z miejscowego materiału czyli z czerwonej cegły wypalanej w miejscowej cegielni Janinów. Stoi w samym centrum wsi na wzgórzu, a jego wysokie, strzeliste wieże widoczne są z odległości wielu kilometrów i jak latarnia morska wskazują drogę strudzonym wędrowcom
