| Description | Susan G. Komen Chair for the Israel Race for the Cure and wife of US ambassador Dan Shapiro Julie Fisher joined Mayor Nir Barkat, Beverly Barkat, Hadassah Lieberman and Na’amat’s Yehudit Zusmanovich in lighting Jerusalem’s city walls pink. The beautiful display is a visual symbol of the dedication of Jerusalem and the rest of Israel’s diverse population to the fight against breast cancer. The Jerusalem walls have seen much history, and by lighting them pink, Israelis and Americans highlighted their commitment to saving lives by defeating breast cancer. The pink lighting raises breast cancer awareness, and highlights how medical experts in the United States and Israel are working together through Komen and other organizations to do outstanding and important research in the field of breast cancer. Mrs. Fisher and the U.S Embassy will join over 6000 Israelis Race for the Cure on May 3. |
