English: U.S. Army Capt. John Huey, brigade public affairs officer for the 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, helps a boy with his new supplies at the Korean Hospital on Bagram Air Field, Oct. 16. About 200 students from the local Janqadam School came to the hospital to learn first aid and proper hygiene techniques. They also received gifts including soccer balls, backpacks, clothes and school supplies.
“The future of Afghanistan rests on the shoulders of this next generation,” said Sijin Song, acting representative of the Korean Provincial Reconstruction Team. “We hope that through teaching these children proper hygiene, they will in turn teach their families.” |
