The Kumbum (or Pango Chöten) Temple of Gyantse in [[Tibet]] was built in 1440 by Chögyel Rabten Künzang Phag. The stupa was named Kumbum because of the 100,000 deities visible inside.

Deutsch: Der Kumbum (oder Pango Tschöten) Tempel von Gyantse in Tibet wurde 1440 von Chögyel Rabten Künzang Phag, dem zweiten in einer Linie von Stammesführern erbaut, die Gyantse zur Hauptstadt ihres kleinen Königreichs machten. Aufgrund der im Inneren sichtbaren 100.000 Darstellungen (Gottheiten) erhielt der Stupa den Namen Kumbum.

The Kumbum (or Pango Chöten) Temple of Gyantse in Tibet was built in 1440 by Chögyel Rabten Künzang Phag, the second in a line of tribal leaders who made Gyantse the capital of their small kingdom. The stupa was named Kumbum because of the 100,000 representations (deities) visible inside.
