English: A drawing depicting the Migration period Kymbo figurine. It's a silver statuette with a golden collar. It is found at Storegården, just north of Kymbo church, Tidaholms municipality, Västergötland, Sweden. Some scholars think it depicts the Norse goddess Freyja with Brisingamen around her neck. Others believe it depicts the Norse god Odin (Óðinn) while hanging in the world tree Yggdrasil. Drawn and painted 17 January 2010 by Gunnar Creutz.
Svenska: En teckning av Kymbofiguren, en folkvandringstida silverfigur med en guldten virad om halsen. Figuren är funnen strax norr om Storegården, strax norr om Kymbo kyrka, Tidaholms kommun, Västergötland. En del forskare tror att figuren föreställer gudinnan Freja (Fröja) med smycket Brisingamen om halsen. Andra tror att det föreställer guden Oden när han hängde sig i världsträdet Yggdrasil för att uppnå visdom. |
