Décor végétal de la façade est de l'hôtel Mercure Château-Perrache ____________ La Compagnie P. L. M. décide vers 1902 la construction d'un hôtel de luxe proche de la gare de Perrache au 12, cours de Verdun à Lyon (Hôtel Terminus du PLM) L'architecte retenu est Georges CHEDANNE (1861-1940), Grand Prix de Rome en 1887. Assisté de l'architecte lyonnais M. Curieux, il conçoit un immeuble à structure métallique très novateur pour l'époque qui est achevé en 1906. En 1937, l'hôtel rentre au patrimoine de la SNCF, son exploitation est successivement concédée à plusieurs sociétés. C'est aujourd'hui un hôtel Mercure (Groupe Accor). Au moment de la construction, les meilleurs artistes et décorateurs contribuent au décor intérieur de l'hôtel Terminus dont une partie a été conservée.
