Description
Español: Cementerio de La Almudena, de Madrid. Lápida de la tumba del fotógrafo J. Laurent (Juan Laurent Minier, o Jean Laurent), que nació en Francia en 1816 y falleció en Madrid en 1886. Su tumba se encuentra en la parte más antigua del cementerio. Laurent fue uno de los más importantes fotógrafos que trabajaron en España en el siglo XIX. Residió en Madrid más de 40 años. Se conservan cerca de 12.000 negativos de vidrio en el Instituto del Patrimonio Cultural de España (IPCE), y copias positivas en papel a la albúmina. Obtuvo retratos de estudio, vistas de ciudades y monumentos, obras públicas, obras de arte (pinturas, esculturas, armaduras, tapices,...), y tipos populares. Viajó por casi toda la Península Ibérica (España y Portugal).
