Description LC-USZ62-106362: WWII-Atlantic Convoys. U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Sinks Sub. Fellow fighters look over each other. Crew members of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Duane (WPG-33), shown in the foreground, and the Coast Guard Spencer (WPG-36) line the decks to look each other over. The Duane participated in the mid-Atlantic action in which Spencer sank the submarine trying to break into the center of the convoy they were escorting.
