Description LC-USZ62-50737: USS Vermont, port view, in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, possibly during the Spanish-American War, 1898. Photographed by the Detroit Photographic Company. Courtesy of the Library of Congress. A former ship of the line, Vermont served as stores and receiving ship for 37 years and was struck from the Navy list in 1901 and sold the following year. (5/8/2015).
