Located in the eastern part of Dehli, Humayun’s tomb is one of the best preserved Mughal monuments. This spellbinding mausoleum is the first example of Mughal architecture in India. Humayun’s tomb was built thanks to the initiative of his widow Hamida Banu Begum, who commenced the construction of a mausoleum for her deceased husband in 1565, nine years after his death. The construction was finished in 1572 Humayun’s tomb represents the first mausoleum dedicated to a Mughal emperor in India. For that matter, it is one of the first important royal monuments constructed once the Mughals had established their power..

Humayun ka Maqbara: Humayun ka Maqbara, located on the banks of the Yamuna River, is an impressive tomb in Delhi that is a magnificent piece of architecture from the Mughal period. This mausoleum is primarily the tomb of the Mughal emperor Humayun, which was built by Bega Begum, Humayun's eldest wife, after his death in 1560. Today this mausoleum is a major historical tourist destination not only in Delhi but also in the whole world. It is the first grand mausoleum of its kind built in India and also the first garden mausoleum in the country. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Delhi and is a famous attraction of India that attracts tourists from all over the world.

Another UNESCO heritage site, Humayun's Tomb in Delhi, the capital of India, is a wonderful blend of Mughal and Persian architecture. The mausoleum is an epitome of beauty and is surrounded by lush green Mughal gardens. This mausoleum is a stunning garden mausoleum, also believed to be the source of inspiration for the Taj Mahal, but its design is very different. It was built by Humayun's wife Haji Begum in memory of her husband. The mausoleum was completed in 1569 and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.
