Français : La boucherie Lafleur de la 5e Rue de Limoilou vers 1930
« Tous les comptoirs de boucherie des épiceries du Québec offrent la saucisse Lafleur. Tout le monde la connaît, mais moins de gens savent que cette charcuterie est née dans le quartier Limoilou à Québec. C’est en 1912 qu’Alphonse Lafleur ouvre une boucherie sur la 5e Rue du quartier Limoilou. Rapidement, il développe des spécialités de saucisses et de charcuteries. Face au succès de sa petite entreprise, il agrandit sa boucherie en acquérant les lots voisins de son commerce. Sa réputation s’étend désormais à toute la ville de Québec. Il achète des camions et se lance dans le commerce en gros. À la suite de son décès survenu en 1934, ses fils Raymond et Gérard prennent la relève et relance l’entreprise sur des bases industrielles. En 1972, la boucherie de Limoilou fusionne avec la compagnie J.N. Brochu de Saint-Henri-de-Lévis. Malgré une nouvelle fusion avec le groupe Olymel en 2005, la bonne saucisse créée par Alphonse Lafleur est toujours en vente. » - Société historique de Québec - Réjean Lemoine, «Limoilou, un quartier effervescent», Les Éditions GID, 2014, p. 104.
