La demande en mariage ; costumes d'Albano près de Rome Oeuvre de Guillaume Bodinier (1795-1872) 1825 Huile sur toile Angers, atelier de l'artiste ; don de l'artiste en 1835. La demande en mariage met en scène trois personnages dans un cadrage serré : au centre la jeune fille, les yeux baissés ; à gauche sa mère assise qui lui tient les mains, et à droite le fiancé, la main sur le cœur. La gestuelle très codifiée des mains et des regards, l’impression de solennité, l’extrême attention portée aux costumes très particuliers d’Albano et aux bijoux sont caractéristiques d’un «réalisme idéalisé » cher à l’artiste.
