L'enceinte avec ses kiosques (chhatri) et un des deux minarets de la mosquée Jama Maslid Sur la gauche, une des trois coupoles sous forme de bulbe de la salle de prière. _______________ La mosquée Jama Maslid est située au coeur du vieux Delhi, elle a été construite entre 1650 et 1656 sur ordre de Shah Jahan (1592-1666), l'empereur moghol (règne 1627-1658) qui a également fait construire le Taj Mahal à Âgrâ, La cour est entourée de galeries dotées de quatre tours d'angle. Elle dispose de deux minarets de 40 m de haut et de trois portes. La salle de prière est couverte par trois coupoles. La mosquée peut accueillir 20.000 personnes. Elle est construite en grès rouge avec des parties en marbre blanc. |
