Español: Retrato de la niña Matilde Cobos, que nació en la ciudad española de Cádiz. Está retratada de medio cuerpo ante un fondo neutro. Peinada con tirabuzones que le enmarcan las sienes y tocada por un vistoso sombrero de terciopelo negro a modo de turbante, de plena moda en 1830, viste traje verde de ancho escogte y mangas abullonadas, que se ciñe con un cinturón de raso rameado. En su rostro, que aparenta unos 8 años de edad, esboza una tímida sonrisa, mientras dirige la mirada intensa y penetrante de sus grandes ojos negros al espectador, mostrando en su mano la cruz de pedrería que cuelga de su cuello.
