JPEG file comment | BORGOÑA, Juan de
(d. 1554 in Toledo) Lady with a Hare - Tempera and oil on wood, 41,5 x 30,3 cm Christian Museum, Esztergom Borgoña was a Spanish-naturalized Frenchman (from Burgundy). He continued the style of Pedro Berruguete and was a follower of Domenico Ghirlandaio in the frescoes painted for cardinal Ximenez in the Toledo Cathedral. In this portrait Borgoña follows the example set by Leonardo in his Lady with an Ermine.
