Summary edit

Description
English: Lamb's House. Lamb's House is a 16th or early 17th century grade-A listed building in Leith, once owned by Andrew Lamb, a wealthy merchant. It has been owned by the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) since 1958, has had various tenants, and now looks in great need of some TLC. For an interesting comparison see Anne Burgess's photo taken in 1971, when it looked quite smart 224353. Newspaper reports from July 2007 indicate that it is for sale. It had been expected that the property would be developed by an Edinburgh Council-owned development company as flats, but there is increasing pressure from campaigners to convert the building into a museum. NTS say they do not have the resources to convert the building. A plaque on the building says that it is on the site where Mary Queen of Scots dined on arrival from France in 1561.
