Accession: 2010-25-1 Lamp, Conch, Decorative, USS Enhance Dimensions: 10"H, 6.75" W, 8.75"D A recent acquisition to the collection, the conch lamp is a good example of sailor ephemera or souvenir. The conch shell appears to have been modified to sit on top of a glass jar. The painting on the shell is of the USS Enhance MSO 437, an Ocean Minesweeper. USS Enhance was commissioned in April 1955 and decommissioned in December 1991. Collection of Curator Branch Naval History and Heritage Command. |
