| Description |
Deutsch: Dieses Gebäude wurde von der jüdischen Gemeinde selbst 1765-1767 errichtet. Vorher wurde der Vorgängerbau seit 1742 ebenfalls als Synagoge genutzt. Ein Viertel der Stadtbevölkerung war in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts jüdisch. 1881 wurde die Fassade klassizistisch umgebaut. Während des Novemberprogroms wurde die Inneneinrichtung zerstört. Nur aufgrund der zentralen Lage wurde die Synagoge nicht in Brand gesteckt. Von 1952-1982 wurde sie als Lager benutzt. Seit 1986 pflegt und nutzt die „Initiative Synagoge Hechingen“ das restaurierte Gebäude. |
