| Description |
English: Lands at Ocklester and Muckle Ocklester. This land is seen from the B9052 which connects the A960 Kirkwall - Deerness main road, and the A961 Kirkwall - South Ronaldsay main road. The road rises to a elevationb of only 50 metres or so but is very exposed to winter storms and few houses are built there. The land is similar to a high moorland, difficult to cultivate and mainly set aside to grazing sheep. This view looks almost due east across the moorland to the island of Copinsay in the distance. |
