English: AUSTIN, Texas -- About 150 people gathered, umbrellas in hand, on the University of Texas campus on a wet Wednesday afternoon in protest of Tuesday's election result.
With only three states left to be officially called, Donald Trump has 279 votes in the electoral college, nine more than are necessary to be deemed the winner of the election. The group gathered at the base of the university tower Wednesday. Shouts of "Donald Trump is not my President" could be heard echoing through the crowd. Signs among the crowd read similar messages of dissent. There are piñatas and other visual effigies of Trump held by some protesters. By 1:30 p.m., the mass of students began to flock through campus in a march through Guadalupe St. Austin Mobility said the march blocked all lanes going southbound from Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. An hour later, the group had turned onto 12th St., making a beeline toward the South 1st St. bridge, blocking all lanes there. The group later to convened on the Congress Ave. bridge and blocked traffic before moving to Southbound Congress at Sixth Street. The UT march has been another in a growing list of public demonstrations denouncing President-elect Trump.
