Description

I am only 2/3rds through on a very long day, as I drive west from Denver to Los Angeles, a total distance of over a thousand miles, in one shot. I am in Las Vegas for dinner and refueling.

I am at the Luxor, whose buffet I am patronizing for dinner. And here in the pool area, Speedo-clad gay men are having a good time, as part of the Las Vegas Pride festivities.

It is notable that Rockstar energy drinks are being served. Rockstar had been targeted for boycott by the LGBT community, due to the extreme homophobia of talk show host Michael Savage (real name Michael Weiner), who has an interest in Rockstar. But as it turns out, Rockstar is majority owned and controlled by Weiner's son, who is actually very pro-LGBT, and to make up for the bad publicity resulting from the father's involvement, the junior Weiner had pledged sizable donations to help the LGBT community and its civil rights causes.

Back to my drive, I had left Denver in the early morning hours, around 6:30 AM, Mountain Daylight Saving Time (or 5:30 AM Pacific Time as is the case in Las Vegas and Los Angeles). I was in Las Vegas around 4:30 PM, resuming my drive shortly after 5. I descended over Cajon Pass into Southern California's Inland Empire around sunset, and pulled into my driveway past 9 in the evening.
