Title
English: Launching of Alician at Todd Shipyards, Seattle, 1924
Description
English:

Todd Shipyards (now Vigor Shipyards) was founded in 1916 as the William H. Todd Corporation through the merger of several companies, including the Seattle Construction and Dry Dock Company, the origins of which were established in 1882 when Robert Moran opened a marine repair shop at Yesler's Wharf. This image shows the launch of a new pleasure yacht, the Alician, at the Todd dry docks on the West Waterway of Seattle's Harbor Island. The Alician was an ocean-going yacht, constructed for Todd chairman Clarence W. Wiley (1870-1935) and his wife, Alice Ann Wiley (1867-1951). The vessel was 116 feel long, had a 20-foot beam, and could sleep 12 people besides the crew.
