Description |
English: Handwritten on verso: Saddle & pack horse White Sam and Lawrie Lindsley at Headquarters Camp at Lake Keechelus. We had just made a two and half day trip from Licton Springs, Seattle. Sam shows he is sure tired. The cabin is gone and lake has been raised so the ground is underwater. Across the lake the Snoqualmie Pass hiway has been blasted out and thousands of cars pass here every month. ... This was the fastest trip we ever made as the usual run was about 3 days or so. We now make the same trip in auto in three or four hours. Some change. Most travel this in 2 1/2 hours from Seattle now.
Handwritten on negative jacket: 1901. Old Gold Creek Series. Lawrie at cabin head of Lake Kitchelus [sic] and saddle horse White Sam. We had first arrived at the camp from Seattle 2 days and a half. That was a fast trip for those days. ... Uncle Victor Denny was with me on this trip.
