Description
English: Gold Beach. Aerial photo near the small town of Le Hamel, taken after the beachhead had been secured. It was at this spot that my uncle, Major Hugh Victor Duke (1918-44), was killed by a sniper whilst leading C-Co. of the 2nd Btn, Devonshire Regiment on D-Day.,
