Le Rêve Oeuvre de Franz Marc (1880-1916) 1912 Huile sur toile Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid


Pour Franz Marc, un des plus grands peintres expressionnistes allemands, la couleur est le vecteur d'une démarche spirituelle comme elle l'est pour Kandinsky, le cofondateur avec lui du mouvement artistique "Der Blaue Reiter" en 1911.

Inspirée par l'Orphisme de Robert Delaunay, cette oeuvre est dans son esprit proche du primitivisme de Gauguin car elle évoque un paradis habité d'animaux et d'humain apaisés.
