L'oeuvre entre dans les collections en 1965 grâce au legs de madame Henri Galilée.

Cette oeuvre est volée le 24 mai 2018 au Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nancy. Retrouvé en avril 2019 en Ukraine, le tableau est authentifié.
