Description

International Development Minister Lynne Featherstone observes a lesson on Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting at Lycee Venegré secondary school in Burkina Faso. In November 2013, the Burkina Faso government made FGM/C a part of the national curriculum so girls and boys can learn about the dangers of the practice.

UK aid is supporting the UNICEF-UNFPA Joint Programme in Burkina Faso to develop classroom resources on FGM/C to help young people talk about the issue and play a role in ending the practice.
