ST. SEBALD. S.. are two eyes. She is principally to be met with in the Grernianecclesiastical sculp;ure; and I have seen a picture of her in v. Bartseu,the gallery at Vienna, in which she is represented kneeling at plgSii.the feet of the Virgin and Child, who look down upon herwith benignity: opposite to her stands St. Peter Martyr. The baptism of St. Ottilia by St. Erhard of Bavaria is oneof the subjects in tie church of St. Boniface at Munich. It isthe twenty-second 3ompartment.1 A distinguished personage in this group of early G-er- St- sebaldman saints is St. Sebald. As an object of veneration, hebelongs exclusivelv to Nuremberg, but the rarity and valueof some of the old prints and woodcuts in which he is repre-sented have spread his name, at least, among collectors andamateurs: and wto that has visited Nuremberg, will notrecall the pilgrim-patron of that most ancient city?—hisantiquated church and wondrous shrine?
