Back in London via a late-morning Eurostar run out of Paris. Leicester Square is the hub of activities for the live performance theatres of the West End. Alongside New York's Broadway, the West End is where all the great musicals are performed, on a permanent basis, and most of the theatres are within a few blocks of Leicester Square. A half-price same-day ticket can be obtained, subject to availability, at the TKTS booth on the square. (At this time, I already have a ticket for Mamma Mia! two nights later.) In the middle, I can see the sign for Equinox nightclub. I had gone there during my initial London visit in 1996. |
