Description
Français : Les foins, à Angé (Loir-et-Cher, France).
Le foin est un mélange d'herbes fauchées puis séchées, composé d'environ 50 % de graminées et 30 à 40 % de légumineuses. On y trouve les végétaux suivants : fléole des prés, fétuque, pâturin, brôme, trèfle rouge, trèfle blanc, sauge des prés, oseilles, ombellifères, luzerne et bien d'autres. Il est difficile de connaître sa composition avec précisons, car celle-ci varie selon la provenance du foin, sa région, la saison, etc. Il ne faut pas le confondre avec la paille, qui est une litière (mélange de tiges de céréales séchées).
