Having begun at the British Leyland subsidiary Park Royal Vehicles in Park Royal, London, production of Titans was latterly transferred to this site, expanded from its original purpose building the new Leyland National single-decker.

As with the vast majority of production, these Titans were delivered new to London Transport as part of their dual-door T-class, who had taken delivery of T1 (reg. THX 401S) in August 1978.

The buses pictured here were part of the very last registration series batch (reg. B79-125 WUV), built between August and November 1984, allocated the fleet numbers T1079 to T1125 by LT. (With second hand purchases by LT of 5 West Midlands PTE Titans in 1984, plus the 5th pre-production prototype in 1987, the series eventually reached T1131).

On the left is the rear of T1112 (B112 WUV) (the 1,172nd production example), while the pair facing the camera appear to be T1083 (B83 WUV) and T1085 (B85 WUV) (the 1,143rd and 1,145th). T1125 was the last production Titan of a total run of 1,185.

After delivery, T1083 saw use in London until 1997, and after conversion to an open top bus saw later use as a tour bus with Western Scottish. T1085 saw use in London until 2000, when it was sold to Wingates Tours of Melling, and then to Timeline of Bolton in 2004. By 2007 it had been scrapped. T1112 saw use in London until 1999, then further use with other operators until 2005 when it was bought by Nu-Venture as a source of spares, who eventually sold it for scrap in 2009.
