Deutsch: Graphische Gegenüberstellung der beiden Sockelentwürfe für die Freiheitsstatue. Während Bartholdi (links) 1880 noch einen massiven Pyramidenstumpf als Unterbau vorsieht, entwickelt Hunt (rechts) bis 1984 den Sockel als ein mehrteilig fragmentiertes Bauwerk mit funktionalem Innenleben.
English: Graphic comparison of the two pedestal designs for the Statue of Liberty. While Bartholdi (left) still envisaged a massive pyramid trunk as a substructure in 1880, Hunt (right) developed the pedestal as a multi-part fragmented structure with a functional interior until 1984.
