Deutsch: 4: Aida - Rückkehr des siegreichen Radames. Zur Feier der Einweihung des Suezkanals wurde Verdi von dem Vizekönig von Ägypten beauftragt eine Gelegenheitsoper zu schreiben. So entstand die »Aida«, die im alten Ägypten spielt und 1871 zu Kairo zum ersten Male aufgeführt wurde. Die hier abgebildete Szene findet in der alten ägyptischen Königsstadt, dem hunderttorigen Theben, statt. Radames kehrt siegreich von einem Feldzuge gegen die Äthiopier zurück. Der Fürst dieses Volkes, Amonasro, dessen Tochter Aida der Pharaonen-Tochter als Sklavin dient, befindet sich unerkannt unter den Kriegsgefangenen. Vor dem Throne des Radames angekommen, huldigt der besiegte Fürst diesem und seine Tochter setzt ihm den Siegerkranz aufs Haupt. |
