Bain News Service,, publisher. Lieut. Seely, Lt. Col. P.A. Guthrie, Col. J.S. Denis, Capt. Black [between ca. 1915 and ca. 1920] Lt. Col. J.S. Dennis (NYT's spelling) was a Canadian railroad executive who came to New York in June, 1917 to work with the joint Canadian-British recruiting effort. Capt. J.D. Black of the McLean Highlanders of Canada, the 236th Overseas Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, also came at this time to work on recruiting. "Lieutenant H. A. Seeley, of the "Kilties," now in this country, was a bank manager in Western Canada when the war broke out. He resigned and en listed as a private. He has seen eight months in the trenches.
