Zwischen Frankfurt und Köln an der Lahn liegt die sehenswerte, sehr gut erhaltene mittelalterliche Stadt Limburg (30.000 Einwohner) mit weithin sichtbarem und einmaligem spätromanischen Dom. Limburg lag an einer wichtigen Handelsroute und konnte so zu Wohlstand gelangen. Die über die Lahn in die Stadt führende Brücke stammt aus dem 14. Jh.. |
