| Description |
English: Line of former runway, Holmsley South airfield (Plain Heath) Holmsey South airfield was constructed in 1942 and initially used by RAF Coastal Command. The airfield closed in 1946 and the runways were removed in the 1960s.
Although most of the site has reverted to heath and farmland, the lines of the runways can still be traced on the ground. This view is from the north east end of the main runway, looking south west. |
