Montage fait par la juxtaposition de deux photographies prises par Andrew Burgess en 1864 au Mexique. Une photographie de Charlotte et l'autre de Maximilien. L'origine du montage semble peu documentée. L'image a été recopiée et vendue par de nombreux commerces à travers le monde, dont apparemment à Québec par Livernois & Bienvenu (Élise L'Heureux, veuve Livernois, et Louis Fontaine, dit Bienvenu). |
