Description

Lloyd Lake. This is a front porch standing without a house — all that remains of a Nob Hill house destroyed in the 1906 earthquake.

  • It is the only public memorial to the disaster in the City, and is on the lake in Golden Gate Park.
  • The Neoclassical portal is sited as an architectural folly, a traditional element in the English landscape garden style.
