English: Location where Sir William Wallace's arm is buried When the great Scottish patriot was butchered at Smithfield in London (there is a memorial near the spot outside St. Barthlomew's hospital where he was hanged and quartered) his body parts were sent to be displayed at various cities of Scotland and England in an attempt to deter others. Aberdeen got an arm which it is said was buried here at St Machar's Cathedral. The star on the wall at the SE corner of the graveyard marking the spot. |
