English: A U.S. Army Air Force Boeing B-17G-50-VE Flying Fortress (s/n 44-8167, built by Lockheed) of the 15th Air Force, 2nd Bomb Group, 96th Bomb Squadron, dropping its bombs in 1944/45. The 2nd BG was based at Amendola, Italy, from 9 December 1943 to 19 November 1945.
