日本語: 本学の校章「五三の桐葉型」は1903年に改定された東京高等師範学校生徒徽章に始まり，1949年制作の東京教育大学学生バッジにも受け継がれました。1974年本学評議会において「紋章については東京教育大学の伝統を引き継ぎ」桐の葉とすることが了承されました。「五三の桐」と呼ばれる図形には，我が国の伝統的な紋章一般がそうであるように多くのヴァリエーションがありますが，本学の校章は花の部分のみ「蔭」（アウトライン）で表される独特のものです。
